Our A/C and Heating Services
Complete Climate Control System Service
What's Included
Visual Inspection & Testing
- Check for visible leaks
- Measure vent temperature
- Test pressure readings (high and low side)
- Verify blower operation
Refrigerant Service
- Recover old refrigerant properly (EPA certified)
- Vacuum system to remove air and moisture
- Recharge with correct refrigerant type and amount
- Add UV dye for future leak detection
Important Note About Recharges: Refrigerant doesn't "wear out." If your system is low, there's a leak. We can recharge to get you cool immediately, but finding and fixing the leak prevents repeated service.
A/C Leak Detection and Repair
Finding the Leak
A/C leaks are challenging. Our methods include UV Dye Inspection, using an Electronic Leak Detector, and Pressure Testing with nitrogen to pinpoint the exact location.
Common Leak Locations:
- Condenser (Most Common): Rock damage, corrosion.
- Evaporator (Labor-Intensive): Corrosion from moisture, behind dashboard.
- A/C Lines and Hoses: Deterioration, O-ring failures.

A/C Compressor Replacement
When Compressor Replacement Is Needed
The compressor must be replaced when it is seized, has internal damage (metal debris), or the clutch fails to engage. We always include a new Receiver-Drier/Accumulator and a Complete System Flush to prevent contamination and protect your new investment.
Signs of Failure:
- Loud grinding or squealing noise.
- Compressor won't turn or clutch doesn't engage.
- Metal shavings found in the system.

Evaporator & Heater Core Replacement
Both the evaporator and heater core are located deep inside your dashboard, requiring significant disassembly (8-12 hours of labor for evaporator). We handle the complete process, including dashboard removal, component replacement, and system re-assembly/recharge.
Heater Core Alternative:
For older vehicles, we can discuss a less expensive Heater Core Bypass, which eliminates the leak and prevents coolant loss, though you will lose heating function.

Blower Motor, Resistor, and Cabin Air Filter Service
Blower Motor
Restores airflow. Symptoms include no air from vents or loud squealing/grinding. Most repairs completed same-day.
Blower Resistor
Fixes fan speed control. Symptoms: fan only works on high speed or certain speeds fail.
Cabin Air Filter
Quick, affordable service (30-60 min). Improves airflow, air quality, and removes odors/allergens. Recommended annually.

A/C and Heating Repair FAQs
Need immediate clarity before booking? Find quick, transparent answers to the most common questions about our A/C & Heating Repair Services, and how we ensure efficiency for every vehicle in our Richmond, TX shop.

How often does A/C refrigerant need to be replaced?
Never, if the system is working properly. Refrigerant is in a sealed system. If you're low, you have a leak that should be repaired.
Why does my A/C only work on high fan speed?
This indicates a failed blower motor resistor. When it fails, only the highest speed (which bypasses the resistor) works.
Can I just add refrigerant myself with a can from the parts store?
Not recommended. DIY cans don't fix the leak, can overcharge the system, and often contain sealants that can damage your compressor. Professional service includes leak detection and proper diagnosis.
Why does my A/C work fine when driving but not at idle?
Common causes include low refrigerant (not enough flow at low RPM), a weak compressor, or a failing condenser fan. It needs diagnosis to pinpoint the specific cause.
How long does A/C repair take?
It depends: Recharge (30-60 minutes); Leak detection (1-2 hours); Compressor replacement (4-6 hours); Evaporator replacement (8-12 hours).
